Teens' Corner: Review of A Winter's Promise by Christelle Dabos

Today we have an insightful review from Amelka about the captivating novel 'A Winter’s Promise', a work by Christelle Dabos.

This enthralling book tells the story of a young girl, Ophilia, who is forced into marriage with Thorna prominent member of another clanagnst her will. Ophilia comes from an ark filled with inhabitants possessing unique and somewhat magical abilities. She holds the power to read pasts through objects and travel through mirrors; skills that are shared by her family members.

As she settles in at the Pole, her new home where no one can be trusted, Ophilia has to keep a low profile amidst suspicious events that start unfolding - including murders and suspicious poisonings. Secrets unravel alongside identities that are revealed. Will Ophilia find herself entangled deeper into this drama or will her feelingless fiance offer her support?

Amelka rates the book an impressive 9 out of 10, acknowledging it as a 'classical young adult' story with strong themes on manipulation, love and abuse of power.

She says I loved this book. The suspenseful plot filled with twists that result in cliffhangers kept me hooked till the . This is truly one wonderful adventure.
